Laura-Maxine Kalbow studierte Historische Musikwissenschaft und Französische Philologie an der Universität Hamburg und der Sorbonne Université Paris. Von 2020 bis 2024 war sie Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Exzellenzcluster „Understanding Written Artefacts“ im Teilprojekt „Handwritten layers of operatic practices – The reception of Richard Wagner at the Neues Deutsches Theater in Prague (1888–1938)“. Seit 2024 leitet sie das Projekt „Performance Practice of Viennese Modernism – Collaboration in composing and conducting at the turn of the century” am Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures, Hamburg.
